‘I didn’t see anything. I heard the lady that was going into the hospital. I could hear them shouting or crying. I’ve lived here 50 years and I’ve never heard anything like that.’ said a neighbor.

Police descended on the scene a short while after the attack and used up to four vans to cordon off the road.

Detectives from Havering Borough are appealing for witnesses following the incident.

The suspect is described as a white, short, about 20 years old, wearing black clothing and spoke with a ‘foreign’ accent.

Officers said that they are keeping an ‘open mind’ regarding the motive.

Detective Constable Paul Swift from Romford CID said: ‘This was a cowardly attack during which the victim suffered substantial injuries and I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this offence, seen a male loitering around the area before the incident occurred or has knowledge of this matter to come forward.’

According to CNBC an antibiotic-resistant strain of gonorrhea—now considered a superbug—has some analysts saying that the bacteria’s effects could match those of AIDS.

“This might be a lot worse than AIDS in the short run because the bacteria is more aggressive and will affect more people quickly,” said Alan Christianson, a doctor of naturopathic medicine.
Even though nearly 30 million people have died from AIDS related causes worldwide, Christianson believes the effect of the gonorrhea bacteria is more direct.

“Getting gonorrhea from this strain might put someone into septic shock and death in a matter of days,” Christianson said. “This is very dangerous.”

“It’s an emergency situation,” said William Smith, executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors. “As time moves on, it’s getting more hazardous.”

This gonorrhea strain, HO41, was discovered in Japan two years ago in a 31-year-old female sex worker who had been screened in 2009. The bacteria has since been found in Hawaii, California and Norway.

(Correction: The statement that H041 was found in places beyond Japan is incorrect, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Gonorrhea strains resistant to a certain antibiotic not routinely recommended by CDC as a first-line treatment regimen for gonorrhea were detected in Hawaii, but other treatments ultimately cured those infections in follow-up. To date, there have been no treatment failures reported in the U.S.for gonorrhea treated with currently-recommended first-line regimens.)

Because it resists current antibiotic treatment, the strain has been placed in the superbug category with other resistant bacteria, such as MRSA and CRE. These superbugs kill about half the people they attack, and nearly one in 20 hospital patients become infected with one, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Though no deaths from HO41 have been reported, efforts to combat it must continue, Smith said.
“We have to keep beating the drum on this,” he said. “The potential for disaster is great.”

Ten men, seven women, and a girl and a boy both age 10, were hit when gunmen opened fire at the parade. Police said they were looking for three suspects, adding that a motive for the shooting was unknown. A police spokesman said the investigation was continuing. “There’s nothing new to report,” he said. Two victims underwent surgery and the children were grazed but in good condition, police said on Sunday. It was unclear if the victims were marching or watching the parade.

TMZ  has just reported that rapper/entertainer Lil Wayne is in unstable condition in Cedars-Sinai Hospital after having a series of seizures this week. The rapper has been induced into a coma and his family has flown to be by his side.

Allegedly Wayne’s condition is due to his love for the popular drink called “Sizzurp” (a mixture of  Promethazine w/Codeine syrup any fruit flavored soda)

TMZ goes on to say:

“Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, but this time he did not stabilize.  He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably.

We’re told Wayne is currently “unstable,” and has been placed in an induced coma.  He is breathing through tubes.

We’re told several people are at Wayne’s bedside crying, and a number of rap artists and family members are on the way.  Sources say the scene is violent as Wayne shakes uncontrollably.

Sources say there’s evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system.

We’re told Wanye’s stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system.”

WGCI personalities Tony Sco and Leon Rogers bared a Mid-West snow storm to host the Chicago screening at Chatham 14; tv host Tanika Ray charmed the Los Angeles audience at the Landmark West LA as she described the film as an action love story; and WPGC on-air jock FREE joked with her DC listeners at West End Cinema.
