Maxwell Cancels Tour Due To Vocal Cord Damage
Maxwell’s brief summer tour has gone from short to nonexistent.
The R&B star posted a message to his website over the weekend saying that he has “regretfully” been forced to cancel the trek after doctors advised him to take complete vocal rest.
The statement goes on to explain that Maxwell developed a definitive vocal cord edema and a vocal cord hemorrhage. The singer says it “sucks” that his extended time in the studio has damaged his voice, but he’s looking forward to seeing fans on his next full-fledged tour supporting the follow-up to 2009′s award-winning “BLACKsummers’night.” The sequel is due out later this year.
Maxwell’s tour was scheduled to kick off July 20th with two shows in Los Angeles, followed by two-night stands in Atlanta and New Jersey.
