President Obama will be taking an up-close look at damage from devastating wildfires in Colorado.
He will travel there on Friday.
White House communications chief Dan Pfeiffer said the President also wants to meet firefighters battling the flames to give his thanks.
Fires have scorched thousands of acres and have forced the evacuations of thousands of residents in Colorado Springs and other communities.
