Pat Houston Demands to accept Whitney’s Award instead of Bobbi Kristina at Billboard Awards 2012
WOW People its a time and place for everything and I think its time for pat to step to the side. Whitney Houston’s relatives are battling again — this time, over the spotlight at the Billboard Music Awards.
Sources report the late singer’s sister-in-law, Pat Houston, is lobbying to be the person to accept the Whitney Millenium Award on the singer’s behalf at the show in Las Vegas Sunday night, TMZ reports.
The only person standing in her way? Bobbi Kristina Brown, Houston’s only daughter.
When Billboard announced that Houston would receive the award, the magazine originally said that Bobbi Kristina and Pat would accept it together.
It remains unclear what went wrong.
This isn’t the first time since Whitney’s death that Pat Houston has stepped into the spotlight. Shortly after the singer’s death, she told Oprah that she didn’t “know how she got (in the tub),” which fueled conspiracy theories that Houston was murdered.
She also recently inked a reality show that will reportedly follow her and her husband Gary as they struggle with Whitney’s death and try their best to support their niece.

Bobbi Kristina’s involvement in the show has also been a source of contention.
Houston died in February on the eve of the Grammy Awards.
She was 48.
