Google Now Restricts Travel for its employees for the Coronavirus Outbreak spreads

In the recent update on coronavirus outbreak spread around the world a Google employee based in Zurich office in Switzerland is the victim of coronavirus. The employee has been tested positive for the virus. This has led the company to issue a notice to all its employees not to travel to nations like Italy, Iran, South Korea, and Japan where the spread of the said coronavirus seems to be rampant. Talking about the same, the Google Spokesperson has confirmed about the Zurich employee being tested positive about the coronavirus without any symptoms. Hence as the necessary precautionary measures, the company seems to have acted on time.

The company has sent an email sending them notices to all its 120,000 employees to avoid the travel to the said nations. So far the coronavirus has targeted around 84,000 people in the world and it has been spreading like a fast-spreading flu-like coronavirus. The reports have confirmed the death of people of around 2,859. It first came to notice in China this December and since then it has been spreading in more than 48 nations. So far at least nine of the cases in Switzerland have been reported. The companies all over the world are taking the required measurements in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

On similar grounds, the e-commerce giant Amazon seems to have issued the notice to its 800k employees to restrict travel to different places particularly to China and other places that are affected by the coronavirus. The spread of the COVID-19 has made Amazon take up this decision as a precautionary measure. Similarly, the radio taxi based company called Uber too has restricted the travel for employees to mainland China, Iran, along some regions of South Korea and Italy. Many tech companies in the world have canceled their visits scheduled to nations like China for various conferences and meets. Even Google was seen canceling the Global News Initiative Summit that was located in Sunnyvale in California which is to be held in April last.

It was canceled with the message saying that the company feels sorry for canceling the said summit considering the health and wellbeing of its guests. Richard Gingras the VP of the company has been informed about the same. Similarly, the Mobile World Congress too had suffered the cancellation that remains the largest trade show for the mobile phone domain in Spain just two weeks before it was to be organized. Even Facebook was seen canceling the Global Marketing Summit in San Francisco which was supposed to call not less than 4,000 people in early March. Also, the  Game Developers Conference slated in March in San Francisco seemed to have been called off by the organizers – Facebook, Sony and Amazon.
