Google Maps Gets Incognito Mode

Of course, you know the Incognito Mode in the popular web browser from Google called Chrome. It is a rather interesting and useful feature for the web browser allowing you to browse with a greater impact on surfing over the web that can be removed without any extra efforts. These certainly include keeping away the search history clean along with surfing the personal info that can be useful for different reasons. We now, see the giant search engine to get with the Incognito mode to Google Maps, which was earlier not available for the Android devices. This very feature simply promises a good amount of privacy that helps the users to use Google Maps very much differently.

Now, you can enjoy the Google Maps app with the same feature that helps all your navigation history or searches getting saved on your account and the history would not reflect the recommendation sections as well. This newly introduced feature in the Incognito mode would help to keep your location from updating the location with anyone. This mode is not available on all Android-based smartphones. If you are willing to use this mode, all you need to do is to open the Google Maps and then tap over the profile and then choose Incognito mode just at the top right corner.

However, with this feature, one thing that comes in our mind is whether your internet provider or Google Services will be able to track your locations. It will only be going to hide the information from yourself and not your location history. Also, once you have enabled the incognito mode, there can be a couple of features that will not work for the users. As per Google, you will not able to catch the following feature in this mode, let’s check them out:

  • Commute
  • For You
  • Location Sharing
  • Location History
  • Notifications and messages
  • Search completion suggestions
  • Search history
  • Google Assistant microphone in Navigation
  • Google Maps Contributions
  • Offline Maps
  • Media integration
  • Your Places

With all said and done, the giant search engine can embark upon the similar mode for the Google Go, which will help you in keeping the track of your search history secure and thus help you in sharing your device in case if you have lost it or someone has stolen the same.  Well, if you are yet to enjoy this feature, have to do is to go to Google Maps then tap on your profile picture followed by tapping over the ‘Turn on Incognito mode’.
