Yes, you have heard it right, as per the latest updates on its FAQ, the popular messaging application will not working for a few iOS and Android-based smartphones where this app would stop working 1st Jan. It also informs us that for the older smartphones, the messaging company would stop giving support from 1st Feb 2020. As per the recently added WhatsApp FAQ section, all the smartphones running with the versions of Android 2.3.7 along with the and iPhones running on operating systems like iOS 7 will fail to get the support from WhatsApp from the coming year.
Also, FAQ calls upon the fact that the older versions of both the popular operating systems (iOS and Android) will prevent you even to create new accounts and it will also stop verifying the current accounts from 1st of Feb 2020. With this WhatsApp is also calling off the support given to the Windows-based phones from 1st Jan 2020. The very same time we see Microsoft stopping its support to all the Windows 10 based mobile phones. Also, the FAQ has indicated that Microsoft Store has already removed it from 31st July 2019. If you are worried that all your chats would go away from 1st Jan from your Windows phone, do not worry, there is a way out. All you need to do is to follow these steps discussed below and save them:
- It will start with opening up the chat that you intend to export followed by tapping it over the group info.
- In the next step, you need to tap over Export Chat, you are then be given the choice to download the chat with or without media. Choose accordingly and export all the chats.
- Also, if you are using the Facebook-based instant messaging app then you are going to lose the same from 1st Jan 2020. However, you can still run the app in selected smartphones with the help of KaiOS 2.5.1+ OS along with the JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
- However, the FAQ section of the app also claims that the end of the WhatsApp support from the said iOS and Android phones would not be going to hamper the users at all. They would be offered solutions, which they need to try to get away from the problem.
