A year ago Facebook had announced that its users will soon be able to access the browsing history of their accounts. Now, the company has finally embarked on the feature coming out in three nations – Spain, Ireland and Korea. Facebook has informed that it will add some more nations to this in the upcoming months. It is a Facebook Clear History tool, which was created at the backdrop of Cambridge Analytica Scandal for giving the users a smarter control over the issues like data privacy at the cost of the advertisers’ targeting capabilities.

As and when the users would clear the history at Facebook that comes for their nation, it will appear as a new section known as “Off-Facebook activity”. On accessing this section, the user will find all the apps and websites that have been tracking all your activities and sending the reports to Facebook for showcasing the relevant ads to them. However, once the user taps over the Clear History, he or she can easily delink the info from their Facebook account. Also, the users can even get the option of blocking all the companies that have been sending your tracking data to Facebook in the coming future. 

Also, the users have the option of disconnecting all their off-Facebook browsing data or choose certain apps and websites. Earlier, the social media giant has warned that while accessing the Off-Facebook activity section, one can see even the apps and websites that tend to fail to recognize and are yet to be visited. Thus with all the probabilities, the users can get the websites and apps, which a friend could have checked their activities on their phone or has even turned up over the list as they can share your home PC  with their family.

As per Facebook, this update is all set to come soon but gradually to one country to the other. The clear history tool can help you on a long term that have been held in adding up the unexpected delays. The Head of Privacy Products at Facebook Mr David Baser claimed that the Recode coming along with the technical delays are connected to the way the Facebook stores user data are seen on its servers. As per Baser, the data at Facebook is not often stored over the same way one can find getting collected over the social networking sites like how one can get the web browsing data as it carries multiple info available in different parts including personal info, website visited and the time stamp, etc.
