Google Translate is among the popular feature when anyone needs to translate from one language to the known one. It often offers the user the nearby meaning of the content in any of the desired language of a user. Now, Google has planned to make it appear with some real time transcriptions than before by coming along with a new feature that is soon going to come from the Google Translate app. This helps in allowing the transcription with the audio from one language to the other in the coming and near real time. This may not be called as a quite live translation-transcription functionality but as per reports, it will even allow the users to record the speech over their smartphones in any language of their choice just when it is immediately transcribed into the other language.
The Tech Giant was seen showcasing the translation feat over the event stating that ZDNet sister site CNET was seen attending it yesterday, where Google showcased the artificial ial-intelligence projects. As per the engineer of the Translate app team, Bryan Lin claimed that the new feature is going to be added soon in the coming months. This feature, when compared to the current Google Recorder app, would be seen working perfectly over the Pixel 4 and the higher version. The demo showcased in English audio by the company was shown getting translated into Spanish text which seemed to be added to the real time”, claimed reports of 9to5Google.
The said feature will also be used over the Android-only Live Transcribe app, which is targeted for people with hearing disability and thus help them to find out the transcriptions to the nearby speech over the smartphone screen called albeit in one language which seems to come with the written translations once the original language was seen getting transcribed. However, with Live Transcribe app, we can see the Transcription over Google Translate App that will not be happening over the device hence the users will not be requiring the dependency on the internet connection and the Cloud of Google that are required to do with the help of processing audio in order to deliver the transcribed text. That simply differs from Google Recorder that can easily transcribe offline.
Thus it would be fair to say that at one point or the other, Google would be soon going to rely over technologies like AI to carry out the live transcriptions of one language to the other on the device. However, the Live Transcription of audio would come from one language to the other like sounds that would remain often a challenging task, even in today’s world of powerful smartphones world. As per reports, Google claims that the Translate’s transcription is known to constantly evaluate the entire sentence like how the audio proceeds. Then it adds up the punctuation, along with adjusting the translations that are based on context, and thus adapt to the accents and dialects. Sooner or later, the company is likely to rely on AI models when it comes to improving significantly in the coming time.
