Apple has now become the biggest smartphone player in this domain for the first time in two years beating brands like Samsung. As per the quarterly smartphone shipments for the debut time in the coming two years claims the industry analysts. The iPhone makers have witnessed the shipments soaring to 72.9 million units last year in the fourth quarter claimed the Counterpoint Research, which seems to be climbing above the 70 million Galaxy phones sold by Samsung.
Talking about the same, Strategy Analytics claimed that Apple held the key market share in the quarter, with around 70.7 million units being sold versus Samsung’s 68.8 million seen coming in the final three months of the previous year of 2019. Canalys, a similar group has also reached a similar kind of conclusion. One of the firms called IHS Markit was seen putting Samsung to around 70.7 million while Apple came close to 67.7 million. But the figures, however, had showcased a strong kind of momentum for Apple as we have seen the consumers flocking to buy with the latest model claimed with the iPhone 11.
Apple, however, was seen surpassing Samsung with the help of thanking the iPhone 11 popularity along with the improvement taking place to upgrade cycle from the bigger base of iPhone 6S, user base and 7 claimed the VP research of Counterpoint.
